Software Programme funded by Leeds Cares successfully improves patient care
In November 2017 Leeds Cares funded £6,000 to launch the OLINDA Dosimetry Software Programme on the Nuclear Medicine Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
This will improve treatment for Radionuclide Therapy (RNT) patients, ensuring that radioactive drugs only reach damaged tissue in the body. A great way to reduce the impact on hospital resources and ensure that inpatient stay is as short as possible.
Jacqueline Roberts, Principal Physicist in Nuclear Medicine & Medical Physics Expert for Radionuclide Therapy said, “I want to take this opportunity to thank Leeds Cares for funding the programme, helping us to improve patient care in this highly specialist, niche area of nuclear medicine therapy.”
