Leeds Children’s Hospital Christmas Lights Switch On!
Leeds Cares proudly supported Leeds Children’s Hospital at their star-studded Christmas Lights Switch On.
On Monday 2nd December, staff, patients and families were invited to join in the festive fun at Leeds Children’s Hospital’s first ever Christmas Lights Switch On.
The celebrations kicked off with a performance from talented young dancer Junior Frood and closed with a sensational performance from the Hyde Park Brass Band.
Supported by Leeds Cares, Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and Candlelighters, the event saw boxer, Josh Warrington and the Leeds United Under 23s squad and turn on the Christmas lights outside Clarendon Wing!
Thanks to generous donations, sales of Christmas cards and festive treats an amazing £209.83 was raised on the night for Leeds Cares to benefit patients and families at Leeds Children’s Hospital.
We’d like to thank our volunteers from Direct Line Group who joined in the celebrations and helped us spread Christmas cheer to staff, patients and families on the night!
Leeds Cares would also like to extend our thanks to Sight-n-sound for providing us with a PA system to create a festive atmosphere on the night.
Leeds Cares at Christmas
Leeds Cares has funded over £7,000 to provide Christmas trees, lights, decorations and festive activities to help make Christmas brighter for patients and families at Leeds Children’s Hospitals.
This year over 2,000 people will spend Christmas in hospital.
Donations to Leeds Cares at Christmas help us bring decorations and entertainment into the hospitals, buy gifts for patients without families around to support them, and provide Christmas meals for staff working long hours.
