Day One Major Trauma Support is dedicated to limiting the impact of major trauma on patients and families in Leeds, Yorkshire and across the UK

Day One is a holistic support service for patients and families affected by major trauma; delivered by Leeds Cares in partnership with patients, families, trauma clinicians, NHS Trusts and other organisations.

The Day One support model was established by patients for patients, to address the complex challenges that often arise following a sudden traumatic injury. Day One understands that the right support at the right time can make a real difference.

The Day One aims are to:

  • Deliver an exceptional Model of Trauma Support to patients and their family
  • Work in partnership with medical staff and other services to limit the impact of trauma, aid recovery and support adjustment and rehabilitation
  • Create a strong sense of community among patients and families, facilitating connections and peer support
  • Enable education and training for patients, families and clinical staff
  • Promote research and innovation locally, regionally and nationally
Day One Major Trauma Support relies on donations from fundraisers and supporters. Please click here to donate to support the service.
