The Transplant Games Appeal

Founded in 1978, The British Transplant Games is the flagship event of Transplant Sport. It was established to encourage transplant patients to get fit after surgery and is hosted across Great Britain once a year!

Leeds Cares’ Transplant Games appeal has been launched to help take as many members of ‘Team Leeds’ to the annual event as possible. ‘Team Leeds’ unites those who have undergone a transplant at Leeds Teaching Hospital, enabling patients to meet children and families from across the country.

The Transplant Games celebrate the gift of life, while raising vital public awareness of organ donation. They are also a unique chance for patients and their families to have a well-earned break from hospital appointments and distraction from medication and worry, as well as to meet others who understand the pain and heartache of the organ transplant journey.

How your donation could make a vital difference:

It costs up to £1,000 to send one child and their family to The Transplant Games, including:

• Admission fees
• Travel & accommodation costs
• Sporting kit
• Gala celebration event

Be a part of sending young transplant patients and their families to represent Team Leeds at the British Transplant Games.
